Besides toys, hobby items like musical instruments and sports kit/accessories can also be included for letting it out. This will be useful especially during vacation time.

Vishal says -
Actually quite a decent idea … just listing down a few initial thoughts …

Pros:
1. Lower initial investment (as prime location is probably not needed initially at least)
2. Lower risk as a result
3. Potentially easier to setup than other businesses
4. Always in demand (especially if there are high-end educational toys … and we can also potentially have x-box, PSP consoles and their games for young adults for rental as well (though that brings up the investment to something a lore more significant)

Cons:
1. Lower profits (as margins will be very small)
2. Marketing/Work of mouth publicity  will be common for pretty much business
3. Hygiene of the toys (for smaller kids especially)
4. Traceability of high-end toys/items like x-box consoles, etc. …

Agree about lower margin…
But isme time dedication kam hai… apne regular work ke saath kar sakte hai..
For instance, library timings can me 6 to 9 in the evening… something like that….
Also weekends pe full afternoon ya morning to afternoon rakh saktey hai.

Traceability can be done with ID / contract or something like that…

Penalties for break-down, not maintaining hygiene etc..

Can develop innovative marketing strategies.. publicity won’t be tht difficult I believe..
Contacts ke thru bhi bahot kuch channelize kar saktey hai….

Going Further, home pick-up and delivery options can also be incorporated.
